Final years
At the end of Year 10 each student chooses a pathway, guided by results, interests and a family meeting.
For students heading towards engineering, medicine, computing or the natural sciences.
For students heading towards law, business, languages, education or the social sciences.
Block programming in primary, then Python and basic electronics in Middle School.
Separate physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, used every week from Year 7.
Twenty minutes of guided reading every day of primary school.
Language certificates, olympiads and science fairs, prepared for in school time.
Every Middle and Secondary student presents to an audience at least twice a year.
Specialists work with students who need more time, inside the normal school day.
The day runs from 8:00 to 15:30 for Early Years and Primary, and 8:00 to 16:30 for Middle and Secondary, Monday to Friday. Supervised study is open to every student until 17:30.
Early Years is assessed by observation. From Year 1 there are three reports a year, each followed by a meeting with your child's teachers.
No homework in Early Years. Around twenty minutes a night in lower primary, rising to about ninety minutes in Middle School and two hours in Secondary.
Children joining before Year 3 need no prior knowledge of the second language. Older students take a placement assessment, and those who need it join a one-year support class.
At the end of Year 10 each student chooses a pathway for the final years, guided by results, interests and a meeting with their family.
Families are welcome to sit in on a lesson in any section.
